Our peer support specialist, Liz Hewell Garrett (she/her), is a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marymount University. As the spouse of a trans woman, she is dedicated to fostering inclusive and affirming spaces and is passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community. She understands the unique experiences of partners of trans individuals and wants to offer a supportive space for reflection, connection, and growth.
Beginning March 2026, we're so excited to begin offering a once a month virtual support group on the first Friday from 12p-1p at $35/person per group (Pay-What-You-Can options available for 25% of the group). This is a drop-in, no commitment group, so you're welcome to come once, come every time, or at the pace that works best for you!

Lavar (he/him) is an incredible administrator supporting operations across college, community, education, healthcare, and behavioral health settings. He specializes in maintaining organized, efficient workflows and providing reliable administrative support, with an emphasis on developing systems and processes that are sustainable and function effectively long term. He is known for his positive, collaborative presence and his ability to support teams in maintaining structure and consistency within dynamic environments. Outside of his administrative work, Lavar identifies as a gay cismale engages in acting as a form of therapy and personal expression, and he also enjoys traveling, staying active through boxing and long walks, and unwinding with horror films.

We're looking to begin more support groups at low cost to clients in the future, and would love to bring in leaders of those support groups that share an identity with the theme of the group. If you have a group you'd like to run or and idea for what the LGBT+ community could need, please let us know!
