To join any of our groups, individuals are required to meet with the group leader for 1-3 individual sessions first to make sure the client is a good fit for the group and is ready for group therapy.
While it is not a requirement to be in individual counseling while also in group therapy, it is strongly encouraged to have regular individual check-ins with the group leader to best facilitate your experience in group.
Groups are currently 60-75 minutes in length both in person and virtual and between $100-130/session. Sliding scale options are available. Before seeking group counseling, check with your insurance company about out of network reimbursement. Ask the following questions:
1. What is my out of network deductible?
2. What percentage is reimbursed before and then after that deductible is hit?
3. What is the specific reimbursement/coverage for CPT codes 90853 (group counseling)?

Beginning February 2026, we're so excited to begin offering a twice a month in-person support group every other Wednesday evening from 6p - 7p at $35/person per group (Pay-What-You-Can options available for 25% of the group). This is a drop-in, no commitment group, so you're welcome to come once, come every time, or at the pace that works best for you!
This group will be run by our peer support specialist, Liz Hewell Garrett (she/her), a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marymount University. As the spouse of a trans woman, she is dedicated to fostering inclusive and affirming spaces and is passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community. She understands the unique experiences of partners of trans individuals and wants to offer a supportive space for reflection, connection, and growth.

SC Nealy leads two weekly process groups for those identifying as female in their 20s and 30s. One is on Mondays at 5p in person and the second group is Mondays at 6:30p in person in Arlington, VA. Both groups have openings for new clients.
Both groups are capped at 8 participants and focus on self-compassion, trauma, self-esteem, relationships, interpersonal skills building, self-advocacy, identity formation, and more.

Beginning in February 2026, SC Nealy will be leading an ongoing in person process group for queer women, late in life lesbians, and sapphic folx over the age of 35+ years old looking to form community, practice interpersonal skills, improve attachment styles, and find support in queer spaces. Group maxes at 8 people and is a minimum of 12 session commitment. Date and time TBD based on client availability.

On the first Wednesday of every month at 7p virtually, Dr. Tyler Farrell runs a drop-in, no commitment support group for those who have medically or surgically or socially transitioned genders and for those questioning and considering transition. The groups goal is to provide a safe place to ask questions, seek advice, and facilitate support. The group is $35 per person, and sliding scale/free options are available. Beginning again in May 2026 every Tuesday from 12p-1:15p EST virtually , the 12 Week Religious Trauma group resumes with a brand new cohort. Led by therapist and religious trauma specialist SC Nealy LPC, this group focuses on exploring, unpacking, and healing from religious and spiritual trauma.
This group will focus on psychoeducation around religious trauma, breaking down shame/judgment, restructuring relational patterns, exploring identity outside of religious doctrines, purity culture, the impact on LGBT identities and shame, perfectionism, boundary setting, and increasing autonomy in individual choices toward or away from spirituality and/or religion. This group is open to anyone from any religious background and is intended to help clients reach their own personal goals for religion which may include staying in a religion, growing in a religion, or leaving a religion. All are welcome. This group is capped at 6 individuals.

An 8-week sexual psychoeducational virtual course that expands on the sexual education information that AFAB/nonbinary/female persons weren't taught in grade school. The course reviews sexual drive, reproductive processes, advocating for sexual pleasure, trauma work around safe sex, and more. We lightly utilize the Come As You Are Workbook by Dr. Emily Nagoski and focus on empowerment and self-advocacy in situations and within one's own body.
