Letter writing services requires two steps: a 60-90 minute session with the clinician to assess readiness and medical necessity, and then an additional 30-60 minutes of administrative time to prepare the letter. This two hour process is charged at our standard hourly rate of $260/hour for a total of $520. We allow for 25% of the letters we do to be on a sliding scale or pro bono basis at pay-what-you-can rates.

Before seeking counseling, check with your insurance company about out of network reimbursement. Ask the following questions: 

1. What is my out of network deductible?

2. What percentage  is reimbursed before and then after that deductible is hit?

3. What is the specific reimbursement/coverage for CPT code 90834 and 90834 (individual sessions), and 99080 (letter writing preparation)?
