Jeff Percacciante, LCSW (he/him/his) is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist, as well as a yoga and mindfulness educator with over a decade of professional wellness experience. A former New Yorker comedian, he left the big city to take a deeper dive into where eastern approaches (mindfulness, meditation, somatic work, movement, etc.) meet western clinical mental health modalities. He received his Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Tulane University in 2022, and has since served clients with a unique blend of humor, empathy, mindfulness, and clinical technique.
A devotee of Esther Perel, Brene Brown and Dr. Orna Guralnik, Jeff’s therapeutic heart beats around utilizing a multidisciplinary approach that addresses attachment style dysfunctions, family and relational trauma backgrounds, self-limiting beliefs, intimacy and relational obstacles, and helping clients develop healthy relationships with themselves and others. He has extensive experience working with men’s mental health issues, including struggles with intimacy, shame, body dissatisfaction, and out of control/compulsive behaviors. In addition, as a proud “ADHDer”, he takes great joy in carefully unknotting the painful, limiting narratives around ADHD and developing supportive executive functioning skills with clients. He weaves skills from CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, somatic regulation, and psychodynamic theory to help clients, ultimately, be free from a heavy mind and heart.
An avid mover and consummate pop culture nerd, you can normally find Jeff picking up heavy things at his CrossFit gym or wandering the city, coffee in hand, en route to a yoga class. When not on the move, he spends an inordinate amount of time kissing his old dog’s face, consuming fine reality TV garbage with his partner, taking in a breezy day, or diving into an immersive video game.
Jeff will be accepting new Maryland or Virginia based individual clients or couples/partners via telehealth or in person in Arlington, VA starting late June/early July 2026. They work with individuals 18+ years old and couples/partners, including non-traditional relationships. Email him at jeff@lgbtcounselingdmv.com with any questions.
Our culture is inundated with body shaming narratives, impossible standards and an ever moving target around body satisfaction. While Jeff sees clients of all genders around body dysmorphia and shame, he holds special space for gay men, who often long to heal the wounds of childhood invisibility by chasing idealized body standards. Jeff utilizes a compassionate, trauma and attachment based lens to bring breath and space to the tough narrative around body image.
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is hard. A proud “ADHDer” himself, Jeff utilizes an empathetic, person centered approach to helping clients navigate the difficult waters of ADHD and other forms of neurodiversity. Utilizing a psychoeducational approach, Jeff assists in all steps of the process, from initial screening and diagnosis, potential psychiatric referral, assessment of executive functioning, and thoughtful coaching around supportive skills. Jeff also specializes working compassionately with those diagnosed late in life, who carry significant, self limiting narratives around rejection, laziness, unmet potential and internalized shame.
As the saying goes, movement is medicine. Jeff specializes in helping people find their moving potential. Whether it be dance, weightlifting, yoga, running, somatic experiences, etc., Jeff helps clients tackle limiting narratives around movement and develop the curiosity to move comfortably into the body. Jeff maintains contacts and relationships with local, queer friendly movement spaces to facilitate a warm hand off and safety.
Jeff has extensive experience working with individuals around the ever complicated terrain of love, sex and relationships. He also works with couples and polycules, utilizing an attachment and trauma related approach. He prides himself on “getting in there” with a couple to improve relationship communication, decrease conflicts and help partners meet each others needs. Jeff also has dedicated experience working with intimate partner betrayal and relational healing. For relationships struggling with intimate partner betrayal or infidelity, Jeff works with betraying and betrayed partners, as well as the relationship itself, to help restore trust, intimacy and relational health.
