Brianna Ladd, M.A. (she/they) is a Clinical Extern and a Doctoral Student in Counseling Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park, practicing under the supervision of Dr. Chloe Goldbach, PhD. Brianna has been recognized as a Health Policy Research Scholar by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and has trained in university counseling center settings at the University of Maryland (UMD) and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Across these roles, they have provided individual therapy, group therapy, and initial assessments for diverse student populations navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, academic and career stress, and relationship challenges. Brianna integrates multicultural, feminist, psychodynamic, and relational approaches to support clients in feeling seen, held, and empowered in their healing journeys.
Brianna’s clinical and research interests center on working with emerging adults, LGBTQ+ people of color, individuals navigating marginalization in academic and professional spaces, and those processing identity development and sociopolitical stress. Their clinical work is grounded in Black feminist and liberation psychologies and emphasizes the transformative potential of healing through new understandings and experiences. As a lesbian Black/biracial woman, they draw on their lived experience to create spaces where clients can reconnect with themselves, increase self-compassion, and show up authentically.
Outside of the therapy room, Brianna finds joy in being actively involved in the DC queer community, engaging in creative expression, and spending time outdoors. They are currently accepting in person and virtual individual clients for counseling, with a priority for accessibility and sliding scale clients.
